A focused, emotionally-deep therapy for people who still feel stuck

The low mood creeps in. The tension in relationships, the physical symptoms, the inner stuckness — it’s still there.

Why some therapies only go so far

 

Many approaches to therapy focus on thinking differently, managing symptoms, or talking things through. These can be helpful — but when problems are rooted in deeper emotional conflicts, strategies alone often aren’t enough.

 

That’s where Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP) comes in. It’s a focused, emotionally attuned form of therapy that helps uncover and work through unconscious patterns that drive symptoms like anxiety, depression, chronic self-doubt, and difficulties in relationships.

 

This approach isn’t about endlessly talking or analysing. It’s about helping you truly feel what’s been buried — and safely working through what’s been in the way of lasting change.

 

 

ISTDP might help if you:

 

  • Have had therapy before but still feel stuck or unchanged

  • Feel emotionally distant, blocked, or overwhelmed

  • Understand your issues intellectually but struggle to shift them

  • Find yourself repeating the same relational or behavioural patterns

  • Experience unexplained physical symptoms (like fatigue, pain, or tension)

  • Feel like something is missing — and don’t know why

 

 

What to expect

 

ISTDP is collaborative and active. We’ll work together to identify the emotional patterns that are causing suffering and begin to untangle them at the root. The pace is always tailored to what feels manageable for you, with space for reflection, challenge, and care.

 

I offer this therapy in person at my office in Nottingham and online for clients across the UK and internationally.
